Is a Disney Travel Advisor Free?
Quick Answer
Yes — a Disney travel advisor is completely free. We earn our commission directly from Disney when we book your resort, tickets, and dining, so you pay the exact same price you'd pay on Disney.com (and often a little less, because we catch the promotions you'd probably miss). No planning fee, no hidden cost, no obligation.
How do Disney travel advisors get paid?
This is usually the first thing families ask me, so let me be straight about it: Disney pays us, you don't. When you book a Walt Disney World or Disneyland stay through our agency, Disney pays us a commission — generally around 10% of the booking. That money comes out of Disney's marketing budget, not out of your pocket.
So your trip costs the same whether you book it yourself on Disney.com or hand it to me. Honestly, it often ends up costing less, because applying promotions the day they drop is part of my job. The moment a room-rate discount, a Free Dining offer, or a package deal becomes available, I apply it to your existing reservation.
I've had plenty of families save anywhere from $500 to $2,000 on a single trip from promotions they never would have known to watch for.
What does a Disney travel advisor do that I can't do myself?
You can absolutely plan a Disney trip on your own — people do it every day. The real question is whether you want to spend 40 to 80 hours buried in resort reviews, ride strategies, dining windows, and promotion calendars, or whether you'd rather hand that to someone who lives in it.
When you work with me, here's what lands on my plate instead of yours:
• Resort selection — matching your family's size, ages, budget, and vibe to the right hotel
• Ticket strategy — park hopper vs. base tickets, how many days, whether add-ons like Memory Maker are worth it
• Dining reservations — grabbing character meals and signature restaurants right at the 60-day window, when the good ones vanish in minutes
• Lightning Lane strategy — I'll tell you which passes to buy and which must-do rides to grab first (you make the actual selections in the Disney app, with my game plan in hand)
• A day-by-day itinerary — which park when, where to rest, and what special events to build around
• Promotion monitoring — I keep checking for new deals and apply them without you lifting a finger
• On-trip support — text or call me if a ride goes down, the weather turns, or plans shift
And all of it is included at no extra cost.
Are there any hidden fees or obligations?
None. We don't charge planning fees, consultation fees, or cancellation fees — not from our side. The only fees you might run into are Disney's own (their cancellation policy usually kicks in within 30 days of arrival), and those are Disney's standard terms, the same ones you'd face booking directly.
There's also no obligation. If you decide not to book, you owe me nothing. Want to change dates, swap resorts, or add a couple of travelers? That's just part of the service.
The only way I get paid is when your booking is confirmed and you actually go. If you cancel, I don't earn a thing — which means my goal and yours are the same: get you on the right trip and out the door.
Why would I use an advisor instead of booking on Disney.com?
It really comes down to three things.
The first is time. Planning a Disney World trip the right way can eat up 40 to 80 hours. I compress all of that into a few easy conversations.
The second is promotions. Disney drops discounts on a schedule only Disney understands, and they rarely announce them loudly. I check daily and apply them retroactively, so you don't lose out on the annual Free Dining offer or a room-rate discount simply because you weren't watching that week.
The third is dining and Lightning Lane strategy. The 60-day dining window and the 7-day Lightning Lane window are genuinely competitive, and knowing which restaurants and rides to grab first makes a real difference to your week. I book your dining right at the window, and for Lightning Lane I hand you a ready-to-go plan so you grab the right rides the moment your selection window opens.
There's truly no downside here. Same price (or lower), plus a planner who's walked the parks many times over.
